Congratulations to Elaine Mara (Student Affairs) for being appointed Chair of the Community Service Committee at last night's alternate general meeting.
Kutztown University will be hosting this year's Science Olympiad on Thursday, March 11th and Elaine will be helping to organize people and resources for the event. Kutztown University is looking for volunteers to assist in a wide variety of areas including but not limited to greeting the participants and visitors, registration, food sales, technology assistance, score checking and event set up. They're even looking for judges and event supervisors, although a background in science is required. Elaine will also be helping us organize our involvement in the Special Olympics. Kutztown will host the event on Saturday, May 1st and we are hoping for a strong showing of support from the graduate student body. We will be discussing these events in more detail at the next general meeting on Thursday, March 4th.
